#5 Boston College earned another win over #4 Notre Dame today, winning by a score of 18-12. The Eagles outscored the Fighting Irish by 14 goals in this weekends’ pair of games.
As they did on Thursday, the Eagles jumped out to an early lead today. Cassidy Weeks started the scoring at 28:47, and BC scored 5 straight goals before the Irish were able to find the back of the net. The Eagles limited Notre Dame to just 3 goals in the first half, and took an 11-3 lead into the second.
Cara Urbank scored under a minute into the second half to get BC started on the right foot, but Notre Dame did end up outscoring BC in the second half, making 9 goals to BC’s 7. Luckily for the Eagles, that still didn’t get the Fighting Irish close to comeback territory.
As usual, Charlotte North led the Eagles on offense. She scored 6 goals on 6 SOG, and now has 53 goals on the season. North also won 10 draw controls for BC. Cara Urbank (4 goals, 2 assists), Courtney Weeks (3 goals), and Cassidy Weeks (2 goals) also had strong offensive games for BC. Annie Walsh, Belle Smith, and Jenn Medjid closed out the scoring with 1 goal each.
Next up, the Eagles will close out the regular season with a pair of games at #3 Syracuse. Like BC, the Orange’s only loss this season has been a blowout loss to #1 UNC.
