Drexel’s TJ Bickerstaff announces his transfer to Boston College

A solid addition for a shaky frontcourt

On Twitter today, 6’9” sophomore forward TJ Bickerstaff announced his intentions to transfer from Drexel to Boston College.

Bickerstaff started all 20 games for Drexel this past season (though only got about 24 minutes each game), putting up 10 points per game, grabbing 5 rebound per game, and shooting an impressive .513 from the floor. This pick-up will be a good addition for BC as they are losing Steffon Mitchell and CJ Felder, both big guys who could score on the inside and contest close-range shots on defense. Don’t expect Bickerstaff to stretch the floor like Felder, though, as he only shot .136 from beyond the arc on about 1 attempt per game.

This isn’t a monumental transfer for the Eagles, but he’s a mid-caliber player who will slot nicely into a Boston College roster that has been losing players left and right for weeks now. We hope that Coach Grant can make a bigger splash in the transfer pool down the line, because just grabbing role players like TJ Bickerstaff will not replace the amount of talent leaving Chestnut Hill in Wynston Tabbs, Jay Heath, CJ Felder, Steffon Mitchell, and others.
