#5 Boston College Lacrosse Defeats #4 Notre Dame in First of Weekend Series

Another day, another easy win for Boston College lacrosse over a top ranked opponent! The #5 ranked Eagles defeated #4 Notre Dame today by a score of 19-11, taking the lead with the first goal at 28:32 and keeping it for the remainder of the game.

Today was the first of a 2 game series for the Eagles and the Fighting Irish - the teams will meet again this Saturday at 11 AM.

BC really never game Notre Dame a chance in this one, scoring 6 unanswered goals to open the game, and never letting Notre Dame score more than a trio of unanswered goals of their own.

The Eagles only outshot the Fighting Irish by 5 SOG, but Rachel Hall made an impressive 11 saves to keep BC ahead. The Eagles did dominate on draw controls (20-13), but Notre Dame picked up the vast majority of ground balls today (11-5).

As usual, numerous BC players recorded hat tricks. The Eagles offense was led by Charlotte North and freshman Belle Smith, who scored 4 goals each. Courtney Weeks and Jenn Medjid each picked up a hat trick as well, with 3 goals apiece. Cassidy Weeks (2), Cara Urbank (2), and Caitlynn Mossman (1) rounded out BC’s scoring.
