The spring field hockey season is in full swing, and Boston College picked up an impressive win this afternoon. The Eagles, who are 5-4 this year between the fall and now, defeated #2 Louisville today by a score of 1-0. The Cardinals were 11-3 coming into today’s game.
Both teams struggled to score for much of today’s game, and the game was scoreless for the first 3 periods, despite BC getting 7 shots in the first period. The game remained scoreless until 56:46, when Sky Caron took a penalty stroke. Caron’s shot went in for her second goal of the year. With only minutes to go in the game the Cardinals were unable to stage a comeback, despite the fact that Louisville dominated in shots for the remainder of the game.
The Eagles return to action on Friday as the head to Charlottesville to take on Virginia. BC will head into this game on a 4 game winning stream, while Virginia just lost an overtime game to Wake Forest.
