Boston College hockey earns #1 seed in NCAA tournament, will face Notre Dame in first round

Eagles return to the NCAA men’s hockey tournament with an appearance in the Northeast Regional in Albany, NY

Boston College men’s hockey is back in the NCAA tournament after a three season absence.

The Eagles have been selected as a #1 seed in the tournament, and will play in the Northeast Regional in Albany, NY, against #4 seed Notre Dame, out of the Big Ten.

The BC vs. Notre Dame matchup will take place at 1:00 PM ET on Saturday, March 2;7, televised live on ESPN NEWS and streamed on WatchESPN.com.

The regional bracket is filled out by #2 seed St. Cloud State and #3 seed Boston University. Their game will take place at 6:30 PM ET on Saturday on ESPN News.

The Northeast Regional final between the two winners will take place Sunday, March 28 at 5:30 PM on ESPN 2.

BC’s overall record sits at 17-5-1 after a loss to UMass-Lowell in the Hockey East semifinal.

Notre Dame finished the season 14-13-2, losing 6-3 to Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament.

BC last played Notre Dame in the first half of the 2019-20 season, sweeping the Irish with a set of 4-0 and 6-1 wins in December.
