It’s official: Earl Grant is the new head coach of the Boston College men’s basketball team. The Eagles made the announcement with help from fan favorite alumnus Jared Dudley (countdown to all of us reading into this in hopes that Dudley will join the staff as an assistant, especially following yesterday’s news of his MCL tear...)

In the announcement video, Dudley goes through a number of BC’s top players, harkening back to a time when the Eagles were a strong program that opponents would be nervous about facing.
The announcement that Grant would likely be announced as the new head coach took everyone by surprise this morning, as his name isn’t one that people had been floating around. Grant comes to Chestnut Hill from the College of Charleston, where he led the Cougars from 2014-2021, amassing a 127–89 overall record and a 69–50 conference record. Grant replaces Jim Christian, who coached at BC during the same 7 year period and went 78–132 overall and 26–94 in the ACC.
