The Boston College baseball team comes into this season with NCAA tournament hopes and expectations, and they looked the part of a contender today, sweeping Charleston Southern in dominant fashion in a doubleheader to open up their 2021 season.

In game 2, Emmet Sheehan tossed six shutout innings and BC jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, winning 12-1.

In the early game, BC won 12-4. Mason Pelio picked up the win, throwing five shutout innings. At the plate, BC hit four home runs, tying a program high in a season opener. Dante Baldelli had two homers, while Cody Morisette and Peter Burns also went yard. Baldelli and Morisette led the way with 3 RBI each for BC in the game.

After a 24 run outburst and an all around strong performance today, Boston College looks for the weekend sweep over Charleston Southern in the series finale tomorrow at 11 AM.
