SO, WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH MERRIMACK:

Last year, the Warriors went 5-11-2, finishing in the bottom half of the Hockey East/HEPI standings. This year, they are 3-5 to start the season, earning wins against Sacred Heart, BU, and Colgate. Although they got swept by UMass last weekend, they kept it pretty competitive in both losses, dropping the first game on a goal scored with 4.7 seconds left then tying the game late before falling on a power play goal in OT.

The last time the Eagles and Warriors met, BC swept them 2-1 and 5-3.

KEY BC PLAYER TO WATCH:

Jack McBain. He’s leading the team with 14 (!) points in eight games, and has a point in every single game this season. He scored three goals this past weekend, and earned Hockey East Co-Player of the Week honors.

PREDICTIONS:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well last week I predicted a sweep and that did not happen! I think the Eagles will split this one because of inexplicable reasons (please prove me wrong). Give me a 2-1 Merrimack win on Friday, followed by a 3-2 BC win at home (again, please prove me wrong).

ICE CREAM OF THE GAME:

Coffee.

BONUS! MEME OF THE GAME:

We tweeted this meme out at the end of the 5-4 OT loss against Vermont last weekend, and I think it pretty much has summed up this season of BCMIH so far.
