We’re onto game two of the season! After tying — but winning in a shootout for Icebreaker (and entertainment/serotonin) reasons — against Quinnipiac yesterday evening, the Eagles will be taking on Holy Cross in the night game of the Icebreaker tournament. The Crusaders dropped their game against Northeastern last night, falling 3-0 against the Huskies.

SO, WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH HOLY CROSS:
Last year, Holy Cross went 4-12-0 in the Atlantic Hockey conference, picking up wins against LIU, Sacred Heart, and Bentley. This season, they fell 5-1 to BU during an exhibition, and 3-0 last night to Northeastern.
In previous matchups, BC is 16-2-0 against Holy Cross. The last time BC played Holy Cross was in 2016, where they won 6-1.
KEY BC PLAYER TO WATCH:
I’m going to say Marshall Warren. He was a clear presence on the ice during the game yesterday, setting up the first goal and almost winning the game on a breakaway. It’s clear he’s been putting in more work to become a more offensive defenseman, and it’d be great to see him rewarded for his efforts.
BC looked to generate some chances against Quinnipiac yesterday, but they didn’t land nearly as many shots on goal as Quinnipiac did. Given that and Holy Cross’ recent results, I could see this being either a blow out or a questionable nail-biter.
Mixed with the serotonin of yesterday’s shootout win/official tie, I’m going to go with a 5-1 BC win.
ICE CREAM OF THE GAME:
Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter Cup. I enjoy this flavor, and I am hoping to enjoy this game a little more than I did yesterday!
