SO, WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH DENVER:
Last year, Denver went 10-13-1 in the NCHC, losing in OT to UND in the NCHC playoffs and not qualifying for the NCAA tournament. This year, the Pioneers are 4-1-0 to start the season, outscoring opponents 29-13 and averaging around 6 goals a game. Earlier this week, we did a Q&A with LetsGoDU for what to expect during this game.
Denver just lost a close game last night to Providence after blowing a 4-1 lead, falling 6-5 in regulation. The last time that BC and Denver met in the 2019-20 season, Denver swept the Eagles.
KEY BC PLAYER TO WATCH:
Marshall Warren again. He’s been everywhere, I genuinely think the only position left for him to play is goalie. Or Nikita Nesterenko, who scored two goals in last night’s loss.
PREDICTIONS:
This team is truly a rollercoaster ride. Denver’s coming off a heartbreaking loss on their own, and I think the Eagles might get destroyed as a result. I’m abandoning my cautious optimism over the past few weeks, and predicting a 4-1 DU win. (I would love to be proven wrong!!)
ICE CREAM OF THE GAME:
Mint chocolate cookie from Ben & Jerry’s. I think I’m going to need my comfort ice cream to get through this game.
BONUS! MEME OF THE GAME:
I thought of this during & after last night’s game ended. With the chaotic-ness of last night’s game and the fact that Denver is probably going to be very emotional tonight, I can only assume the Eagles are in danger!
