The Eagles got off to a tough start in tonight’s game, taking a pair of early (and questionable) major penalties and having to play down for over 5 minutes. Colorado College converted with just under 3 minutes left in the second major penalty to make it 1-0 and take a lead into the first intermission.

Colorado extended the lead to 2-0 midway through the second period, skating off on a breakaway after the Eagles shot the puck directly into a Colorado player. The Eagles cut the Colorado lead back to 1 almost immediately, however. Jack McBain took a chance on net, and Nikita Nesterenko poked it in for the goal.

Nesterenko then tied the game up at 2 all with 3:49 to go in the second period. The teams remained tied at 2 heading into the 3rd.

BC took their first lead of the game just 10 seconds into the 3rd as Colby Ambrosio scored an absolute beauty to put BC up 3-2 off the face off. Unfortunately, Colorado tied the game right back up just under 2 minutes into the period.

Colorado took back the lead at 12:05 off a penalty shot, faking out Eric Dop for an easy score to go up 4-3. BC pulled Dop with 1:39 to go in regulation, still down 4-3. Colorado College grabbed the empty netter with 35.8 seconds to go, and they took this one 5-3.

The Eagles are in for a challenge tomorrow as they host #1 Denver at Conte,
