BC Men’s Hockey vs. Colorado College: Preview & Predictions

Back at home!

Boston College vs Colorado College, 2011 NCAA Men’s Division I Ice Hockey West Regional Semifinals

After whatever happened last week (just burn the tape), the Eagles return home to take on Colorado College on Friday night.

In my last preview, I said that I was hoping there were good vibes to go around everywhere for both the game against Bentley and the football game against NC State last weekend. Turns out, there were no good vibes to go around.

WHO:

#10 Boston College Eagles (2-1-1) vs Colorado College Tigers (0-2-2)

WHERE:

Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, MA

WHEN:

Friday, October 22 at 7:00 PM

HOW TO WATCH:

The game will be live on NESN+.

SO, WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH COLORADO COLLEGE:

Last year, CC went 4-17-2, winning against UMD, Miami and Denver in the NCHC. This year, the Tigers are 0-2-2, dropping and tying games against Union and St. Lawrence. CC also lost one of their more experienced players this past offseason in Grant Cruikshank, who transferred to the University of Minnesota to play for the Gophers. Danny Weight, who was a fourth liner for BC as a freshman last year, transferred to Colorado College at the end of last season, so this game will also mark his return to Conte Forum.

The last time CC played against BC, the Eagles came away with the 4-1 win at the beginning of the 2016-17 season.

KEY BC PLAYER TO WATCH:

I’m going with Marc McLaughlin again. He scored a goal to bring the Eagles within 3 (lol) against Bentley, and he’s leading the team in goals with five in four games.

PREDICTIONS:

I… am truly not sure. BC looked pretty good until the game against Bentley, so that game was either an anomaly serving as a wakeup call or is indicative of a larger issue. Hopefully the former!

They’re playing at home though, so give me a 3-1 BC win.

ICE CREAM OF THE GAME:

I already feel like I’m running out of ice cream flavors! Let’s do Coffee Oreo from White Mountain since it’s another home game.
