Prince Aligbe, a four-star rated power forward from Minnesota, has committed to Boston College, apparently confirmed as the news was retweeted by BC’s Jason Baum.
This is big news for Earl Grant and his team. Aligbe is the 110th-rated recruit nationally and the 20th-rated power forward in his class according to 247sports.
Also (and this is important!) he’s from Minneapolis and his name is Prince, so he’s already a legend.
Aligbe has an impressive offer sheet including Georgetown, Florida, Maryland and USC and per 247 BC and Georgetown had been highest on his list. Needless to say, scoring a recruiting win over any of these programs is a major coup for Earl Grant at this stage in the development of his program.
Aligbe joins Donald Hand (rated 3 or 4 stars depending on who you read) and Chas Kelley (3 stars) as commits for 2022. Hand and Kelley are guards, so the addition of a frontcourt player is great for this class.
ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein is a big fan of this pickup and Earl Grant’s work on the trail so far.

It’s early days, but BC’s class is currently rated #42 nationally and #6 in the ACC on 247sports. Update - BC’s class is now ranked #23 as of the update with this commit.
