This afternoon the Orlando Solar Bears announced that they have signed Boston College grad Luke McInnis for the upcoming season. The Solar Bears are the ECHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Fellow former BC defenseman Kevin Lohan also plays for the Solar Bears.

McInnis, who is the son of BC assistant men’s hockey coach Marty McInnis, played 4 years at Boston College and graduated this spring. McInnis recorded 27 career points as an Eagle, and tied his career high with 10 points as a senior. His career totals include 5 goals. McInnis also graduated with 142 career penalty minutes. Prior to his 4 years at Boston College, McInnis spent a year with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms where he recorded 28 points over 58 games.

Best of luck to McInnis as he continues his hockey career in Florida!
