Well, we have another development in the ongoing saga of the future of college football in 2020.

After the Big Ten was expected to announce a cancellation of the season (or maybe not), the ACC has weighed in.

Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reported that the ACC’s athletic directors and presidents shared a common vision of moving forward in playing football in 2020.

“We are trying to move forward [with playing] absolutely,” an ACC official is reported to have said in the article.

It’s hard to look in a crystal ball right now—if the last 72 hours in college sports have shown anything it is that this is an exceptionally volatile situation that could change at any given moment. However, by all accounts it looks like the ACC does intend to play football in the fall. Whether plans change remains to be seen (the official in the article noted the Sept. 12 start of play), but for now the ACC appears to be moving forward.
