Recent Boston College men’s hockey alumnus Zach Walker has signed with the Idaho Steelheads, his hometown team. Walker is the first player from Idaho to sign with the Steelheads, who are the ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars.

In his 4 seasons at Boston College, Walker played in 113 games and recorded 3 goals and 15 assists. He had his strongest showing as a freshman, when he recorded 7 points over 32 games player.

Although he might not have put up big number on the scoresheet, Walker was a consistently hard working player for BC, particularly on the penalty kill or when things started getting a little scrappy. Walker isn’t afraid to make big hits or block shots, which will certainly endear him to Idaho’s fans. His style of play fits in well with the ECHL, and he should add some grit to the Steelheads roster.
