Cam McDonald, a former commit to Boston College’s men’s ice hockey, has signed with the St. John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek was the first to report the news on Twitter.
CHL note - Cam MacDonald has de-committed from Boston College and has signed with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. No official announcement yet but it's done.

McDonald joins another former Boston College commit Peter Reynolds who signed with the Sea Dogs back in May.
Signing with major junior teams before (and even during the season) is nothing new, especially recently for Boston College, but it is certainly worth mentioning that now two strong recruits who were headed to Boston College have now made the decision to sign with major junior teams in Canada.
It is unclear why their decisions were made, and any motive we ascribe would certainly be speculative but the timing certainly is curious amidst a lot of uncertainty throughout the collegiate hockey world.
In any event, Boston College now has to plan around the departure of two incoming players.
