The staff of BC Interruption stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, now and always.
Earlier this week, the Boston College women’s basketball team posted a video with players and coaches sharing their support for the Black community and calling on everyone to support their Black friends, teammates, and opponents in the fight for equality and racial justice.

BC Interruption fully supports the message that this video sends: that Black lives matter and we all need to do our part to support this movement. As members of the BC community, our motto is “Men and Women for Others.” How can we truly be “Men and Women for Others” unless we are doing our part to condemn the anti-Black violence that continues to plague our society?
Over the past week, many have expressed their outrage on social media, but support for Black lives and justice cannot stop there. It is vital that we all take steps to stand up against racism and that the white and non-Black members of our community put in the work to be real, engaged allies.
We hope that all coaches and teams at Boston College are making a concerted effort to support their Black players & staff and to educate their non-Black players & staff, and that this support and education will remain an ongoing priority.
Because this fight needs to go beyond performative allyship, we encourage everyone to take the time to look at these resources. (Please note that this is just a small selection of what is out there!)
