For the first half of Saturday afternoon’s matchup between No. 18 Boston College and No. 2 Notre Dame, it appeared that the Eagles were keeping pace with the Fighting Irish, and may have been poised for an upset. In the end, however, the Irish proved to be the superior team, edging past a fading Boston College team 11-7 off a 7-4 run in the second half by the Irish.

The Eagles and the Irish held close half, with three different Eagles scoring during the half. Cara Urbank, in particular scored one of her two goals of the game in the first half.

However, the Eagles couldn’t stop the Irish attack in the second, as the Irish put in seven goals in the half, and the Eagles couldn’t keep up in the attacking zone.

The loss brings the Eagles to 3-3 on the season. The Eagles return to action on Wednesday at 4 PM against Hofstra in Newton.
