The Boston College women’s basketball team defeated Wake Forest by a score of 67-54 today. This is BC’s fifth ACC win this season, their best conference win record since 2014-15...and the season isn’t over yet.
Much like in their victory over FSU earlier this week, BC’s victory was earned through accuracy and consistency. The Eagles made 45% of their field goals and 71% of their free throws, while Wake Forest shot at 37%. BC out-rebounded Wake 40-33, and had an impressive 11 steals.
The Eagles struggled at the very start of the game, going into the second quarter down 20-15. However, BC held Wake to just 4 points in the second quarter and took a 29-24 lead into halftime. Wake Forest staged a comeback attempt in the fourth, but BC had enough of a lead that the Demon Deacons were unable to catch up.
Emma Guy led BC with another phenomenal game, scoring 20 points and getting 12 rebounds for a double-double. Guy also scored her 1,000th career point in today’s game. Taylor Soule also recorded (yet another) double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Marnelle Garraud rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 points.
Next up, the Eagles will face Syracuse at Conte as BC looks to jump above the .500 point in the ACC.
