Matt Boldy picked a really good day to have a breakout game.

Powered by a three point night by the freshman, and two goals from Jack McBain, the Boston College Eagles clinched third place in this year’s Men’s Beanpot tournament and completed a season sweep of the Harvard Crimson.

The Crimson got on the board first when Casey Dornbach scored the game’s opening goal just two minutes and thirteen seconds into the game. The Eagles then scored five unanswered goals, culminating in two short handed goals during a Harvard power play.

The Eagles played a really disciplined game, only conceding two power plays. While the Crimson, notoriously strong on the advantage, scored on one of the power plays, the other power play was dominated by the Eagles.

On the other side of the special teams coin, however, the Eagles struggled on the advantage, going 0-for-5 on the power play, a minor blemish on what was an otherwise solid effort by the Eagles.

Boston College returns to the friendly confines of Kelley Rink to take on Merrimack this Saturday at 4:30 PM.
