Preview
After 4 very different games (blowouts against UNH and UML, an offensively strong game against UMass and a defensively strong game against Providence), BC heads on the road for the first time this season. The Eagles begin ACC play with an away game at Georgia Tech, facing a Yellow Jackets team that is coming off a close victory over Tulane. The Eagles are 1-1 against Georgia Tech under Coach McNamee, but won last year’s matchup by a score of 55-48, led by a double-double from Taylor Soule. This game should be a good barometer of how BC will fare in ACC play this season.
In order to win, BC will need to rely on what they’ve been doing well, such as forcing turnovers (BC forces an average of 23.3 turnovers a game) and drawing penalties, but they’ll also need to control turnovers of their own. If Jaelyn Batts and Kaylah Ivey keep playing like they did against UMass Lowell, BC will definitely have a higher chance of taking this one, especially if Ivey can keep hitting those threes. The Eagles have more accuracy than George Tech, and BC also has more players that can put up big numbers, so this is definitely a winnable game for BC if they stay calm and play with confidence.
