Jon Rothstein reported today on Twitter that Boston College is planning to build a practice facility for the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Sources: Boston College is planning to build a practice facility for both men's and women's basketball. No set timetable. Would be a game changer.

We can confirm that our sources indicate that this is the plan, and that the facility will be a build-out of the existing Conte Forum / Power Gym complex, extending out towards the previous location of the Plex.
This is huge news for BC basketball fans, who have long been clamoring for improved facilities to help both basketball programs with recruiting. BC has a lot to offer in terms of location, campus, and academics, but the basketball facilities as they exist are certainly less appealing than those at other ACC schools, as well as at most other schools that we compete with for recruits.
This could have an almost immediate impact on a women’s basketball program that has already begun to see huge recruiting improvement under third year head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee.
Facilities will obviously also be a big draw for men’s recruits, but in particular this could help BC to attract an impressive new hire when the administration decides to hire a new men’s head coach (listen, we all know that’s coming eventually.)
We will update with information regarding timelines and plans as we learn more.
