Recent reports from AJ Black at BC Bulletin indicate that the NCAA has still not given the green light on James Karnik’s waiver request that was filed back in September:
Talked to BC today. “No change in status” for Lehigh transfer James Karnik. Unless he receives a waiver at some point today he won’t be eligible to play tonight against Villanova.

With this still not having been finalized by the NCAA today, this more than likely makes Karnik inelligible to play against Villanova this evening unless his waiver is signed off on in the next few hours. This is unfortunate news for the Eagles as they could have used Karnik’s big frame and previous expertise in helping to slow down the Wildcat’s strong post-players. A huge disappointment from the NCAA, but I guess them dragging their feet on this forces us Eagles fans to continue to take a wait and see approach in what Karnik can bring to the table for the Maroon and Gold.
As a result of Karnik’s absence, expect CJ Felder to carry most of the workload down low in tandem with Steffon Mitchell.
