Trevor Kuntar Drafted 89th by the Boston Bruins

Boston College freshman center Trevor Kuntar has been drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins, chosen with the 89th pick.

Kuntar, who is known for his strong shot, led the Youngstown Phantoms with 53 points last season, which was also good for 10th in the USHL. Additionally, his 28 goals tied him for 3rd in the league. Kuntar is a big and tough player who has a history of spending a not insignificant amount of time in the penalty box (83 penalty minutes in 44 games last season, 92 minutes in 66 games the year before) so better discipline in terms of when to take those hits is something he’ll hopefully be able to work on with Coach York and his staff.

Assuming he adjusts to the NCAA quickly, BC fans can expect to see Kuntar taking on a big role with the Eagles offense whenever the 2020-21 college hockey season is able to start.

Congratulations to the newest future Bruin!
