Well we’re up to one of the most highly anticipated weekends of the season. Well, we’re not quite up to that game yet, but it is the weekend of it. Before we can get to that game though, Boston College has a date with some River Hawks at Tsongas Center.
What To Watch Out For
- Battle of Special Teams: Last week Boston College was able to win on the road against UMass Amherst because of three power play goals. The Eagles have lived and died by the power play this season, and a successful power play will likely be requisite for an Eagles win. The problem with that is the River Hawks have a very solid penalty kill, even better than the Minutemen. The game will be won or lost on how both teams do on special teams.
- Making the Most of Chances: BC dominated Corsi for in both games last weekend. Uncharacteristically for the fifth best shooting team in the country, the Eagles got stymied in the first game. Games like that happen where the goalie stands on their head, but the Eagles need to work through those games.
- Dominating Even Strength: Lowell isn’t quite as good as their western Massachusetts brethren at even strength, but they are still pretty darn good.
Random, Possibly Incorrect Fact from UMass Lowell’s Wikipedia Page
Lowell was founded as Lowell Normal School.

No nonsense this weekend. Just take care of business,
Prediction
Tsongas Center hasn’t been great to the Eagles, and this feels like a game the Eagles will look past. I say 3-3 tie.
