The Boston College field hockey team is competing in the Big 10/ACC Cup this weekend, where the Eagles will face both #2 Maryland and #15 Northwestern.

In today’s game against the highly ranked Terrapins, the Eagles unfortunately lost, dropping to 1-2 on the season with a 3-1 defeat.

The Terrapins scored first, netting a goal with just about 3 minutes to go in the first period. Boston College junior Jaime Natale put the Eagles right back into the game, scoring her first goal of the season to tie things up with 16 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

The Eagles went scoreless for the remainder of the game, while Maryland took back the lead at the end of the first half and extended the Terrapin lead to 3-1 with 6 minutes remaining in the game.

Boston College field hockey returns to action at 1:30 PM on Sunday when they will face Northwestern as the Eagles look to earn a victory for the ACC in the Big 10/ACC Cup.
