The Boston College women’s volleyball team will be heading back to BC this week flying high after defeating Georgia Tech 3-2 to improve to 2-0 in conference play and 11-4 overall. Particularly worth noting is how much BC has improved on the road this season - the Eagles already have 5 road wins this year, after winning just 2 away games last season.
The Eagles won the first 2 sets of today’s game, picking up a 31-29 victory in a close first set, and earning a 25-21 victory in the second. Georgia Tech won the third and fourth sets, taking a 25-21 victory in the third and a commanding 25-14 win in the fourth. The Eagles solidly won the tiebreaker and the match with a 15-11 victory in the fifth and final set to earn the match win.
Torey Baum was the star in today’s game, leading all players with 2 aces and leading all Eagles with 13 digs. Senior Sophie West and junior Amaka Chukwujekwu also had an impressive game, tying to lead all players with 6 blocks apiece.
The Eagles will play at Boston College this Friday at 7:30 PM, their first home game of the regular season. Head over to Power Gym inside of Conte to watch them take on Duke!
