Name: Marc McLaughlin

Number: 25

Position: Forward

Class Year: Sophomore

Drafted: N/A

Background: McLaughlin won the Bernie Burke Outstanding Freshman Award at the end of last season after recording 4 goals and 4 assists over 39 games. McLaughlin is the type of player who really leaves it all on the ice, and he significantly improved in terms of confidence and consistency over the course of his rookie season. Three of his four goals were scored at the end of the season. McLaughlin was the hero on senior night last season, scoring the game winning goal against Northeastern. He also scored 2 goals during the 3 game Hockey East Quarterfinals series at Providence.

2019-20 Outlook: McLaughlin’s role this season will largely depend on if he comes in playing like the player he was at the end of last season, or if he is quieter on offense to start the year. Either way, expect him to be a player who dresses for most of the season - what is up in the air is really which line he will get the most playing time on. McLaughlin is also strong on faceoffs, which will further cement his importance on the roster.

Fun Fact: McLaughlin was the 2018 recipient of the USHL Curt Hammer Award, after distinguishing himself not only as a leader on the ice, but as a leader off the ice who participated in a significant number of community service opportunities. (x)
