Name: Casey Carreau
Number: 23
Position: Forward
Class Year: Sophomore
Drafted: N/A
Background: Carreau’s freshman year was actually two seasons ago, in 2017-18 when he joined the Eagles and skated on the fourth line for the majority of the season. Carreau had a goal and an assist in 33 games as a freshman, but spent last season playing in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers and in the NCDC with the Boston Jr. Bruins. He skated in a combined 44 regular season games with those two teams, putting up 21 points. He added another three points in eight playoff games with the Jr. Bruins. He returns to BC this year with three years of eligibility remaining.
2019-20 Outlook: With many of their forwards from last season returning and with a strong freshman class coming in, Carreau could be facing an uphill battle to crack the lineup in his return to BC. His numbers over the past few seasons suggest that he may not have the scoring punch to ever play very high up the lineup, but there is plenty of value he can provide either as a fourth liner or as a 13th/14th forward who pushes for a lineup spot as the season goes on.
Fun Fact: Carreau spent some time playing for the Cape Cod Whalers, where he was coached by former Eagle Andrew Orpik.
