Boston College Basketball Announce 2019-2020 ACC Schedule and Dates

We knew who and where. Now we know when.

Boston College officially announced the men’s basketball team’s ACC schedule for the upcoming 2019-2020 season. While the non-conference schedule has been set for some time now and in-conference home/away matchups for the next few seasons were announced in February, BC fans can now start figuring out which games actually fit into their own lives.

Since the ACC is weird and has shifted away from a pure, first half non-conference/second half conference schedule, the Eagles will actually tip off their year at Wake Forest on November 6th. The next conference game will be at home, a month later against Notre Dame on December 7th.

Those two games are followed by another near-monthlong break before the meat of the ACC schedule. A New Year’s Eve game at Duke and a January 9th home matchup with defending National Champions Virginia ensures that the Eagles start this run with about as tough a pair of games as one could ask for.

The rest of the home schedule for the Eagles is Jan. 11 vs. Georgia Tech, Jan. 25 vs. Virginia Tech, Jan. 29 vs. Louisville, Feb. 4 vs. Duke; Feb. 16 vs. N.C. State, Feb. 22 vs. Clemson, Feb. 26 vs. Notre Dame, and the regular season home finale on March 3 against Syracuse.

The away slate is just as challenging. The Eagles will travel to Syracuse on Jan. 15, Wake Forest on Jan. 19th, UNC on Feb. 1, VTech on Feb. 8, Miami on Feb 12th, UVA on Feb 19th, and then wrap up the season on March 7 at FSU.

Because of the Academic Calendar, which starts classes on January 13th, I would expect students to miss the home UVA and GT games. I’ve never quite understood why the start the conference schedule while everyone is on break (and it seems that top ACC teams come up to Boston in that first week or two ), but nobody asked me.
