In the first round of the NHL Draft, the Minnesota Wild drafted BC hockey prospect Matthew Boldy, a forward out of Millis, Mass.
Boldy comes in as a highly regarded prospect. NHL Central Scouting ranks Boldy as the No. 9 best prospect out of North America.
Boldy spent last season with the US National Team Development program, where he posted 81 points on the season, 33 of those coming on goals.
Boldy also participated for USA Hockey at the U-18 World Junior Classic, where he scored three goals and posted six assists on the tournament.
Boldy appears to be a really strong prospect coming into the Heights, and the Wild’s confidence in him is a reflection of that. He appears to be a legitimate offensive threat that should be a force to be reckoned with right away.
