For the third year in a row, Boston College women’s lacrosse earns BCI Team of the Year honors. This year, BC WLax was a nearly unanimous winner, with women’s tennis being the only other team to be nominated.
Although the 2019 women’s lacrosse season ended in heartbreak, this was a team full of amazing players who lost only 2 games all year. The women’s lacrosse program has become one that Eagles fans can look to for happiness and can speak of with pride, as Coach Walker-Weinstein and her roster of extremely talented players have turned BC women’s lacrosse into a nationally recognized program.
Many of our favorite memories from this year are from lacrosse season - amazing goals scored by players like Sam Apuzzo, Kenzie Kent, and Kate Taylor, crazy comeback wins against teams like Syracuse and UNC, and strong goaltending outings from both Abbey Ngai and Lauren Daly. Next year will be an adjustment as the team figures out how to make up for the loss of all of this year’s amazing seniors, but if anybody can do it, it is this team.
