The transfer portal has been active lately for Boston College, and last night they were on the short end of the stick as according to reports, quarterback Matt McDonald is enrolled at and will play for Bowling Green:
BREAKING: Bowling Green has their transfer Quarterback. Matt McDonald is officially on campus. Today was his first day at BGSU. He just finished up his redshirt freshman year at Boston College. He knows Scot Loeffler very well, obviously.

McDonald will be following former offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler to the Falcons, and will be joining LB/RB Davon Jones who transferred to the school as well. McDonald, who was a later commit in 2017, was redshirted his freshman year but played a bit for the Eagles in 2018, finding playing time against UMass and Holy Cross. He finished his BC career throwing 7-8 for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
In the grand scheme of things this isn’t a huge loss for BC. Moving forward McDonald was probably 4th or 5th on the depth chart behind Anthony Brown, Matt Valecce, Sam Johnson and EJ Perry. He probably wasn’t going to find significant playing time at Boston College, and made the wise move and transferred to a program where he might see the field.
Best of luck in the future Matt.
