Powered by a 10-1 defeat of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Boston College Eagles clinched the final spot in the ACC baseball tournament and will play in Durham for the ACC title.
It has been an up-and-down season for the Eagles, who had moments as high as beating No. 1 NC State, and as low as losing in the Beanpot semifinal and having to play in the consolation game at Fenway.
Eleven teams had clinched a spot in the ACC Tournament going into Thursday night’s game in Brighton. BC’s entry into the tournament ensures that all teams in the Atlantic division of the conference will be represented at the tournament.
The Eagles will be placed into Pool A, with the Nos. 1 and 8 seeds. Obviously big wins against those teams would leave a great memory on the season.
The Eagles close out the series against Notre Dame Friday and Saturday, and will play the first game of the tournament on May 21 in Durham, N.C.
