You would be forgiven if you were a little bit nervous during the early parts of the BC/Duke women’s lacrosse game Saturday afternoon.
The game was a back and forth affair before a 7-0 scoring run powered by a pair of goals by Cara Urbank and Sam Apuzzo pushed BC past a pesky Duke team to win the game 20-12, preserving BC’s perfect season.
In typical BC fashion, seven different players scored a goal for the Eagles, with Dempsy Arsenault leading the way with five goals on the day. Sam Apuzzo had four goals, and Kenzie Kent and Sheila Rietano both had a hat trick in the effort.
The win concludes a brutal four game stretch for the Eagles, who had to play four top-fifteen teams in the a row. The Eagles, however, shined in that stretch, outscoring their opponents 63-38.
The Eagles have one more test, a game at No. 21 Virginia Tech before the Eagles have two more games at home to close out the regular season.
