It would be a lie to say that BC’s 13-9 victory over No. 5 Notre Dame Wednesday afternoon was without stress.
Quite the contrary- after BC jumped to a 9-4 lead in the first half, the Irish came back with thunder, inching as close as 11-9 in the second half, before Sam Apuzzo and Sheila Rietano shut the door to close out the game, preserving the Eagles’ unbeaten streak and improving the Eagles’ record to 13-0.
Once again, the Eagles’ win was a team effort with seven players contributing at least one goal, with five of those seven contributing two or more. Apuzzo and Cara Urbank both had a hat trick in the effort.
Abbey Ngai was strong in net as well, posting a .609 save percentage in the win, earning her ninth win of the season.
The Eagles welcome No. 13 Duke April 6 for the annual Red Bandanna game.
