Boston College fans would be forgiven for being on the edge of their seats during Friday evening’s ACC semifinal.
In a wild back-and-forth game at Alumni Stadium, the Boston College Eagles outlasted the No. 4 seeded Syracuse Orange 14-13 to set up a date in the ACC championship Sunday.
The Eagles were down 13-10 late in the second half, before the Eagles scored four unanswered goals, culminating in a Taylor Walker goal with 17 seconds left in the game to give the Eagles the win.
Walker’s goal was her third of the game, completing a much-needed hat trick for the senior. Sam Apuzzo also had a hat trick in the effort.
The Eagles will now face the winner of North Carolina v. Duke in the late game at Alumni Stadium Sunday in the ACC championship game. The Eagles, obviously, have beaten both of them this season, but Eagles fans would be forgiven for having nervous anticipation for the big game.
