BC baseball (7-4) picked up a 12-3 win on a frigid Wednesday evening in Lexington, knocking off the Kentucky Wildcats (8-4).
Sal Frelick continued the torrid start to his freshman season, going three-for-five with a home run and four RBIs. Frelick is now batting .455 with 16 RBIs and 11 stolen bases through 11 games.
The Eagles trailed 2-1 in the eighth, when Frelick legged out a bases-loaded infield single that plated two runs. BC kept piling on from there, adding two more runs in the eighth on a triple by shortstop Brian Dempsey, and capitalizing on Kentucky’s sloppy play in a seven-run ninth, which included an error, two wild pitches, three walks and a hit batsman.
BC wraps up their Kentucky sojourn with a three game series at Louisville (9-3), beginning Friday at 6pm.
