The Boston College women’s lacrosse team continued to impress today thanks to am 18-5 victory over #12 Navy. Yes, you read that right. BC beat what has historically been one of the top women’s lacrosse teams in the country by a 13 goal margin. Things remained close at the beginning of the game, but the Eagles ended the first half on a 6 goal run and used their dominant defense to keep their lead, limiting Navy to just 1 goal in the entire second half. Coach Walker-Weinstein is now just 2 wins away from her 100th BC victory.
The Eagles were lead, as usual, by Sam Apuzzo, who with 8 goals today scored more goals on her own than Navy did total. Apuzzo also led the game with 12 draw control wins. Dempsey Arsenault recorded a hat trick for the Eagles, along with 3 assists, and Kenzie Kent and Taylor Walker each picked up a pair of goals.
Abbey Ngai, who seems to have taken over as BC’s starting goalie, had another strong game for the Eagles today, making 12 saves and allowing just 5 goals.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday for their biggest challenge thus far - an away game at #5 Northwestern.
