In a busy week of softball, Boston College took on Quinnipiac University and Providence College in one game each before hosting the Syracuse Orange in ACC play.
Against the Bobcats, Susannah Anderson was lights out, throwing four scoreless innings before handing it off to Camryn Dolby in the fifth. The Eagles offense exploded in this one, mostly behind Gianna Boccagno’s grand slam, leading to an 8-0, mercy rule win.
Against Providence, Susannah Anderson again gave a very strong start, allowing 8 hits and only one run over seven innings, but the Eagles could only muster one hit by Emme Martinez and fell, 1-0.
In game 1 against the Orange, Martinez hit a walk off single in the seventh to give the Eagles a 4-3 win. It was Dolby’s turn for a strong start, as she went five scoreless before handing it off to her classmate Anderson. Lexi DiEmmanuele and Martinez both had two base knocks.
Dolby went six innings, striking out five and only allowing two runs while the offense exploded behind her en route to a 10-2 win. Allyson Moore, DiEmmanuele, Martinez, and Boccagno each had multi hit performances to pace the offense.
Emme Martinez went 4-4 to stay hot, but the Eagles couldn’t get much else going offensively as they only mustered four other hits in the game. That, combined with three errors, led to an 8-3 loss at the hands of the Orange.
This week, the Eagles will host UMass for one game before a weekend series with NC State.
