The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and Boston College will be sending quite a few players to the NFL. A select group of players performed at the NFL Draft last month in Indianapolis, but there will be a larger group that will be performing in front of a group of NFL Scouts this Wednesday at the Fish Practice Facility.
According to BC the following players will be at the event:
Zach Allen (Defensive End)
Kevin Bletzer (Linebacker)
Hamp Cheevers (Defensive Back)
Lukas Denis (Defensive Back)
Will Harris (Safety)
Chris Lindstrom (Offensive Guard)
Aaron Monteiro (Offensive Tackle)
Wyatt Ray (Defensive End)
Jeff Smith (Wide Receiver)
Ray Smith (Defensive Tackle)
Connor Strachan (Linebacker)
Tommy Sweeney (Tight End)
Taj-Amir Torres (Defensive Back)
Mike Walker (Wide Receiver/Kick Returner)
2017-18 graduates who are also participating:
Noa Merritt (Defensive Tackle)
Ty Schwab (Linebacker)
Thadd Smith (Wide Receiver)
If you have been keeping an eye on the mock drafts, it appears that both Zach Allen and Chris Lindstrom could be picked in the first round. Most recently I saw Mocks that have Allen going to the Patriots (which makes sense they just lost Trey Flowers), and Lindstrom going to the Packers, a team desperately in need of offensive linemen. Will Harris had a strong combine as well, and I have seen him projected as an immediate starter, probably picked in the middle rounds.
The rest of the group need to have a strong Pro Day, to help build up their draft profile. There are definitely some quality prospects in this group, but they are going to need to show the scouts.
Either way, the NFL Draft should be interesting for BC Eagles fans everywhere this year.
