The Boston College women’s lacrosse team improved to 6-0 today with a 12-9 victory over USC. The Eagles were led by Sam Apuzzo, whose 7 points catapulted her to the top of BC’s all time leading scorer list, Apuzzo now has 316 career points for the Eagles.
Overall, USC and BC were pretty evenly matched throughout today’s game, but the Eagles never gave up their lead. BC scored 3 goals to start the first half, and despite a couple second half USC comeback attempts, the Eagles hung on to win.
In addition to Sam Apuzzo’s 7 points (5 goals, 2 assists), Kenzie Kent also picked up 7 points with a goal and 6 assists. Cara Urbank recorded BC’s second hat trick, and Taylor Walker added 2 goals to BC’s total.
Abbey Ngai earned her second start for BC in net, making 12 saves to help secure the win for the Eagles.
