The top ranked Boston College women’s lacrosse team opened the season with a 20-6 victory over Boston University today, thanks to a team effort led by Kenzie Kent and Cara Urbank.
Kenzie Kent opened the scoring at 29:26 in the first, and BC didn’t let up for the rest of the game. The Eagles entered the second period with an 11-4 lead, and ended up with a 20-6 victory. Kent led the game with 5 goals, closely followed by Cara Urbank’s 4, and Sam Apuzzo’s hat trick. The Eagles out-shot BU 38-17 in the game, and both goalies made 6 saves.
The Eagles also dominated on draw controls, winning 20 (led by Sam Apuzzo) compared to BU’s 5. As always, BC’s strong defense was led by Elizabeth Miller, who also led BC with 2 ground balls.
The Eagles are in for a bigger challenge in their first road game of the season next Saturday, when they will face #15 Syracuse.
