Boston College softball played two games this weekend at the Pirate Invitational at East Carolina University, facing the hosts and #18 James Madison.
In game one against the Pirates, freshman Susannah Anderson through a complete game gem, only allowing four hits, completely stifling the bats. The Eagles only had two hits of their own, from Ellie Mataya and Maddison Hamilton, who also happened to drive in and score the only run for the Eagles, respectively.
Game two only lasted five innings as James Madison got to Camryn Dolby early, JMU was able to get to a 9-0 mercy rule win. Camryn Dolby gave up five earned in her 3.1 innings of work in the loss. BC’s only hit of the day was by Kirstin Giery.
The Eagles and their bats will look to rebound this week at the Madeira Beach tournament as they take on St. John’s, Penn State, Central Michigan, Georgia Southern, and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in Florida.
