The night for the Eagles started out exciting. The Eagles jumped out to a two goal lead early in the first and appeared poised to upset the mighty UMass Minutemen.
What resulted next was a roller coaster of emotions that culminated in a last second goal for UMass to give the Minutemen the 4-3 win at the Mullins Center in Amherst.
The Eagles opened up with two goals from their blue line in the form of Casey Fitzgerald and Connor Moore. Cale Makar scored towards the tail end of the first, but BC took a 2-1 lead into the locker room.
UMass then scored two goals in the second to take the lead, but the Eagles equalized in the third when David Cotton scored his seventeenth of the season. The Eagles appeared poised to send the game to overtime. However, during a wild scene in front of the net in the waning moments of regulation, Jake McLaughlin scored with two seconds left to give the Minutemen the win.
The Eagles play the Minutemen tomorrow at Kelley Rink. Lol at everything.
