[Update: OL Kevin Pyne signed on Thursday, while Dwayne Allick and Justin Bellido on Friday bringing the total to 12]
Today marks the beginning of the Early Signing Period for the Class of 2020, and many of the BC commits we’ve documented over the past year or so are signing their letters of intent. BC Recruiting Coordinator, Joe Sullivan said it best, that these Eagles showed an absolute commitment by signing today, showing their faith and believing in where the school is headed with Coach Hafley at the helm.
In summary of today, two tight ends, one running back, one wide receiver, one defensive lineman, one linebacker, two defensive backs, and one offensive lineman, while four others remain unsigned. Signings can continue until Friday. Check who decided to fly today below.
With the National Signing Day regular period beginning on February 5, Coach Hafley and his staff will still have time to add more recruits and gain signatures from those that elect not to sign anywhere today. Between preparing for the Playoff and preparing for his new job, Hafley’s going to be quite a busy guy. It makes sense and is only fair for these prospects to get to spend some proper time with him before making this enormous decision. In all, their are four commits that have not signed today. Two offensive lineman in Kevin Pyne, Dwayne Allick Jr, and Addison Penn and the all-important kicker Ben Sauls. Penn has since received an offer from Duke, but unclear on both. Pyne is already set as an early enrollee this spring, per AJ Black at Sports Illustrated. Jah Joyner changed his commitment and signed with Minnesota, which was not surprising after he reopened his recruitment.
