What

Boston College faces off against a hapless Central Connecticut State that’s 0-for-9 on the year. The Eagles have shown signs of life in the last two games, but they’ve also been prone to a few headscratching losses every year .

Previewing Central Connecticut State

The Blue Devils are 0-9 with some horrifying losses (90-49 to ASU, 89-43 to UMass in consecutive weeks) and their leading scorer averages just 10 points a game. But they’ve also shown some life recently and their last two games had an average margin of -2. But also they have only 53 3-point makes on the year.

In the games they’ve kept it close it, CCSU had efficient guard play from Jamir Coleman and Greg Outlaw (Coleman had an impressive 27 in one game and went perfect from the field in the other). The blowouts have been thanks to poor offense and turnover issues (24 and 23 TO against UMass and ASU. That’s wild). They really don’t do anything well offensively.

Player to Watch

The Blue Devils in-game fortunates follow COleman this year - he’s got double digits in every game except two, in which he scored 1 and 2 points in those blowout losses to Umass and ASU. He’s been solid at getting shot attempts inside. He could exploit the issues the Eagles have been having with their on ball defense.

How the Eagles win

Like I had mentioned last week in the victory over Notre Dame, the Eagles have won games when they slow down and play their offense. The Eagles can and should easily win this game, and if they don’t, I fear it will be because they rushed out and tried to blow them out in a blitz instead of a methodical lead building.

Really this Blue Devils team just struggles offensively, putting up just 56 ppg and shooting 36% from the field. Like they’re really not good. I like BC’s chances thanks to their defense this year,
