Previewing Boston College Men’s Hockey v. Providence

Well Friday night could have gone better. It feels like BC left a win on the table, which hopefully will not come back to bite them down the stretch.

But today, a fresh start. BC gets another chance to get the season started on a strong note against… Providence?? You have got to b—

Stats y’all

Shooting Percentage: BC 8.8% (No. 36), PC 10.5% (No. 22)

PP/PK Split: BC 8%, 75.9%, PC: 26.7%, 89.3%

Average Age: BC 20.11, PCX 21.3

Breaking Down the Game:

  1. Making the best of chances: BC won the Corsi battle 55-42, and the SOGs 28-24. BC had its chances, but never really converted. Just one goal can get things going, so hopefully BC can score early and play with some leverage.
  2. Continue to Stay out of the Box: BC only conceded two power play opportunities in the game against UNH. That’s a marked improvement that needs to continue Saturday night, as a repeat of last week would be a problem.

Random Wikipedia Fact about Providence

I literally just did one.

Fine.

The School of Arts and Sciences at PC was created in 2008.

Drink of the Game

Snapple Fruit Punch

Snapple is pretty great, and this is by far and away the best flavor Snapple still makes (bring back Summer Peach). I don’t entirely understand why it’s so hard to find but whatever.

Players To Watch:

Jack Dugan was a thorn in BC’s side last week. Look fo him to play a big role.

Friar of the Game

The Friar is in a Jeb! pose. How is this not currently breaking the internet?

Predictions

Give me 4-3 Providence.
