A two assist night for Stefan Sigurdarson powered the Boston College Eagles past Syracuse 2-1 Friday night in Newton.

Syracuse opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Ryan Raposo scored the game’s first goal on a free kick from 22 yards out, knocking it in on the near post.

The Eagles, however, responded in kind. In the 42nd minute, Sigurdarson sent a feed to Amos Shaprio-Thompson, who sent a shot from 16 yards out past the Syracuse keeper, tying the game for the Eagles.

The Eagles would break through in the 78th minute, on an almost identical play. Sigurdarson once again sent a feed up, this time to Michael Suski, who fired a shot in from 12 yards out to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead, which they did not relinquish.

The Eagles will travel to Notre Dame to play the Irish in the first round of the ACC Tournament. The game will be on ACC Network.
